Black is beautiful!
Wow! What a nice assortment! The Pentel Smash eraser looks like a limited edition…could it be?
Otherwise, black erasers (good ones at least) don’t stain the paper but hide very well the graphite marks on them, so they don’t look dirty like white (or light colored) erasers. I haven’t noticed an erasing quality difference so far, but then again haven’t tried them all!
PS : no „Kisho eraser“ ? ;)
Wowter: Indeed! :-)
Matt: Yes, as far as I know the Pentel Smash eraser was limited. – Hiding the graphite marks is a useful feature! Just like you I could so far only notice the usual differences between the black erasers, just as between the white ones (but I haven’t tried them all either). However, I remember the KUM Correc Stick being especially awful (I have binned it after the first use). – The “Kisho eraser” is something special and should not be shown as one of many, but get its own presentation :-) Thank you again for it!
This is very useful, thank you for the „eraser map“ !
Rasoplast dust free, interesting! I will have to check if mine is the dust free, but I don’t think so. Is the Maped made in France?
I’m happy to hear that you like the “eraser map”! When I was creating it I thought of readers like you who look closely and would like to know every detail :-)
With the small STAEDTLER rasoplast it’s a little odd: I have two which are almost identical (including the item number 526 B40-9 and the GTIN) but one has the marking “dust-free” and the other not.
The Maped is called “Pyramid” on some websites. It has the GTIN 3154141196119 and the code FR11961100 on the sleeve but no indication of origin.
A true work of art!
Truly loved the arrangement and diversity of the black erasers shown here. Sadly, Milan does not import any of their black erasers locally. So too for Factis, but you were kind enough to provide me with the Black18.
Which one would you say is your favourite?
Thank you! :-)
So far I have tested not all erasers in the photo but the uni BOXY has impressed me the most. If I had to pick one it would be this!
If you like the BOXY, try the Hinodewashi Matomarukun Premium^^
It’s very similar…but better? Depending on how you define better!
Also, what about the BOXY vs the W Air-In? I can’t decide if they are exactly the same, or not!
This sounds great – I will compare them! And thank you again for the Hinodewashi Matomarukun Premium :-)
Re “better”: Of course it depends on the paper and the pencil so there cannot one “best eraser”.
I haven’t compared the BOXY and the black W Air-In yet but they appear very similar and both bear the manufacturer code 06 which stands for Hinodewashi (the full list of the members of the Japan Eraser Manufacturers Association can be found here).
